TERMINOLOGY
(FT) Fair Trade – At Amazing Coffee, Fair Trade means that the coffee in question has been approved by the Fair Trade Labeling Organization. The FLO is an international consortium of Fair Trade groups in Japan, Canada, the U.S. and seventeen other countries. The label Fair Trade Certified guarantees a quality product, a higher price per pound for farmers and workers, care for the surrounding environment, as well as a positive impact on farming communities.

(RA) Rainforest Alliance - The Rainforest Alliance works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land-use practices, business practices and consumer behavior relating to coffee.

(O)Organic - Organic coffees are those whose growing environment and processing have been certified by one of several independent monitoring and testing agencies to be free of the presence of pesticides, herbicides, and other potentially harmful substances.

(SWP) Swiss Water Process - The SWISS WATER® Process is a 100% chemical free coffee decaffeination process that results in great-tasting decaf. Most other processes use chemical solvents, like methylene chloride, to decaffeinate coffee beans. Conversely, the SWISS WATER® Process uses only water when removing caffeine, producing water processed decaf coffee.

| Tanzanian Peaberry Dark - A small portion of every coffee crop yields cherries with just one coffee bean. This round bean called ‘Peaberry’ exhibits more intense flavour than regular or flat beans as some believe the cherry packs the flavour for two beans into one. Lying just to the south of Kenya, Tanzania coffee crops tend to produce more peaberry coffee than most other coffee growing regions. |

| Sumatra Ketambe - This dark roasted coffee is cultivated in the lush rainforest-clad highlands of the Aceh province on the northern tip of the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Coffee Cherries produced in most regions are washed to remove fruity mucilage before drying. However, Sumatra Ketambe is processed differently – whole, unpeeled coffee cherries are raked out on a large patio to dry in the sun. The extended contact between beans and the outer cherry helps to develop extra earthy and spice flavour. This crop of exceptionally large beans offers the signature full body of a good Sumatra, along with and intense aroma of caramel and chocolate with hints of plum. Sumatra Ketambe is roasted dark to further enhance the coffee’s natural body and smokiness. A coffee as complex as the rich environment it grows in! |
